Potty Training Speedbumps.
Well I tried to give toilet training a really good effort last week and was refusing to go back to diapers no matter how difficult it got, but then atmos got sick. he was a tad lethargic, cranky and feverish. so we went back to diapers through the day and a half of sickness. I should have started right back on it, but then I myself fell ill so I didn't. I'm gonna give it another few days or so and perhaps I'll get motivated to give it another go. Wish us luck!

A Night Out.

Tonight we enjoyed a night out of the apartment and dined at Fuddruckers. The place is perfect for kids. It's laid back and Atmos was highly entertained. The food was so-so but the play area is the perfect size for a pint-sized kid. Older kids might need more stimulation, say something like....chuck e. cheese for instance. We had a lot of fun though and here's the pic to prove it!

NASTY POO
A few nights ago, Atmos decided to fingerpaint the walls with his own excrement. It was.....shocking. After an emergency bath, lots of wipes, Lysol and Febreeze, peace and cleanliness were restored to his room. I took pictures of the incident that night and the next day showed them to Albin while Atmos was watching. I think he thought that it was an event to remember since I took pictures....and he decided to stage a repeat. He did the same thing during his nap the day after the first episode. No pictures were taken the second time around and a firm scolding was given. He has NOT repeated this since then and we are now in the process of toilet-training. Today is Day 2 of Training and he has been bare-bottomed both days. He's doing quite well with only a couple of misses onto the carpet. We'll see how he does the rest of the week. In the meantime, take a look at his poo mess that i captured. We will revisit these pictures when he is a teenager giving me a hard time. ;)

Happy Independence Day, Everyone! Atmos has had such an action-packed weekend. He has discovered how to properly say the name of our friend and neighbor, Dan, and has decided to ask about him quite a bit. Atmos also had a new lovely little girlfriend from out of town to play with named Kendall Marie Novak. She's a charmer. They played with the water table outside and had a blast. Atmos ended up playing so hard and he got so thirsty that he decided to drink the muddy water from a plastic cup. YUM. He went back for seconds.

Our friend Sven came over on Sunday with his son Andrew who is 8 and has a heart of gold. Atmos and the boys went swimming in the pool and then played with playdoh. He had a lot of fun.
On Monday, Albin took the family to Underwater Adventuresat the MOA. Kids 2 and under are free but it's a bit pricey for the adults. It was quite exciting though to have sharks swimming all around you in the underwater tunnel. The stingrays were also a treat. Atmos has a plastic alligator that he sleeps with so it was neat to introduce him to real alligators that are only slightly bigger than his one here at home. At the end there's a pool called the Circle of Life where you can touch stingrays and small sharks as they swim around in a big circle. It was a fun time.

As for July 4th, I'm not sure what's in store....

Father's Day.

today was an awesome day! when i woke up, i went to give my pops his father's day card. he loved it (probably bc there was money in it which i got from grandma lonna).then dad took me to target to get some fun balls for the splash pad. at 10am we went to the splashpad at oak hill park and met grandpa dick and grandma cindy there. we had a picnic! i had the most fun playing on the jungle gym and the slides with grandma cindy.
when we got home i had to take a nap and boy did i need it!
after i woke up my mama took me to watch my dad play catch with neighbor dan. i brought my fun ball with me and ran all over the tennis courts and the baseball field and played a bit on the park slides.
later in the evening, mama and i played hide and seek at home. it was super fun!! we hid under a blanket from dada and he came and found us and startled us so much that we started laughing! then dada gave me a bath and read me lots of books from the library, including this book called 'bubbles, bubbles' which i liked bc i love bubbles!
i wish every day could be as fun as today has been! and i hope my dada had a superb father's day bc he is the best dad ever!
